About the FCITS Instructor

Joe Denman began his career in flooring in 1988 at Florstar sales in Chicago, Il. He was the Armstrong resilient sales representative covering Central & Southern Illinois territories. He was recruited by Galaxy Carpet Mills, Shaw Industries and Aladdin Carpet Mills, working for each as a Territory Manager.

Joe later went to work for his largest customer, Carpet Weaver’s, located in Bloomington, IL. He began there as Regional Manager of their five locations.  While there, Joe’s responsibilities included recruiting and hiring sales associates, creating and scheduling and managing the firm’s $1.2 million marketing budget. His Sales Training Program won a Mohawk Best Practices award. During his 17 years at Carpet Weaver’s, Joe served on the DuPont Dealer Council, Mohawk’s FloorScapes Dealer Advisory Council and Abbey’s Dealer Advisory Board. Carpet Weaver’s is ranked in the National Top 25 Independent Flooring Specialty Retailers.

In 2011, Joe founded FloorX Installations, a network of over one hundred installation companies providing over $5.5 million annually in installation services to Central Illinois flooring dealers. The company recently changed its name to Installerz Network to more accurately reflect the service it provides. Joe will continue as President and CEO of this company.

To better grasp product concerns relating to installation and manufacturing issues at FloorX/Installerz, Joe enrolled in FCITS’s Hard Surface and Carpet Inspector’s classes. Since that time, he has become an NWFA Certified Professional Inspector and today, maintains well over a dozen different certifications in the inspection field.  He received his WFCA Certified Flooring Executive (CFE) designation in 2014. The CFE designation is the highest designation offered by the World Floor Covering Association. Joe currently serves on the FCITS advisory board. In his six years as an inspector, Joe has personally performed over 1,400 flooring inspections.
